I need help on the use of libssh (sftp_rmdir function),to delete a directory and its subdirectories on the sftp server

I need help
I have tried several ways to delete a directory and its subdirectory with
sftp_rmdir
on the sftp server and my function fails and the directory and its
subdirectories are not deleted.
How should I use the function sftp_rmdir ?

I have done a project of sftp client with libssh and all the functions are
ok, except the deleting of a directory.
