As long as there is a specific case like working That would be the same as with off_t. People don't understand that LFS and non-LFS are different ABIs. In GPGME that was a major FAQ so that we eventually introduced specific compile and runtime checks to make sure that you are using the right ABI (i.e. sizeof (off_t)).
